Francesco Capozzi

Full Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry at the Department of Agro-Food Science and Technology and Director of the Interdepartmental Center for Industrial Agro-Food Research at Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna. Coordinator of the Working Group on Sustainable Agro-Food Systems of the University-Industry Observatory of the CRUI Foundation. Member of the National Academy of Agriculture and the Italian Academy of Cuisine. CRUI representative on the national MIUR coordination table for the European PRIMA initiative. Member of the editorial board of the international scientific journal “Current Opinion in Food Science.” Serves on the Scientific Council of the "Magnetic Resonance in Food Science" division in the AMPERE Group (Atomes et Molécules Par Études Radio-Électriques). Since 2009, he has been the President of the Scientific Committee of the Biennial International Congress "Foodomics." His research aims to develop methods for food authentication and tracing through the use of spectroscopic molecular fingerprints and to assess the nutritional and wellness status of living beings through the analysis of metabolic profiles recorded on biological fluids.
